“The cultured survive, those without culture die”: Frederic Rzewski

After a solo bike-tour of 2541 km, from Amsterdam to Santiago de Compostella, my life turned up-side-down. In private life many things changed, and for the better it had a huge positive impact on my percussion-playing. Collecting money for Palestinian kids to be able to have musical education, and playing darabukka in Spain on the streets as a street-musician broadened my view for the better.

Crisis or not, we ain’t have a too bad life. And in the main time, I’m happy  to be able to perform as a percussionist, day-in and day-out.

Unfortunately, the ensemble LABYRINT -tour got to an end. We hope that the music of the Velvet Underground can be played in a never-ending tour in the future. This was my most favourite project of this year. Fingers crossed, there are still many nice projects to come and a lovely project will be the NBE new years concert in the Concertgebouw.

Enjoy the saison and see you somewhere around!
